Collection Defense Law
We keep it simple and predictable. We offer payment plans. We pay the overwhelming majority of costs, except those specified in our retainer, a draft of which we will happily send to you while you decide whether to hire us (we hope you do).
Pricing Table I (Post-Judgment)
Post-Judgment means that the plaintiff secured a judgment against you.
Examples of documents suggesting that the case is in post-judgment status:
- Notice of Garnishment or Income Execution (notice from Marshal or attorney)
- Information Subpoena
- Restraining Notice relating to a bank-account hold

*The only additional fees that could apply are those relating to a “deposition” (questioning you before a stenographer) or a trial. These instances are exceedingly rare. Our reduced consumer fees in either instance ranges from $150.00 per hour to $250.00 per hour.
Pricing Table II (Pre-Judgment)
Pre-Judgment means that the plaintiff filed a lawsuit but has not secured a judgment against you.
Examples of documents suggesting pre-judgment status:
- Summons and Complaint (the plaintiff files these first, then “serves” you)
- Demand for Interrogatories
- Demand for Documents
- Motion for Summary Judgment or Motion to Amend
