Portfolio Recovery Associates caught filing defective affidavits

The behemoth debt buyer, Portfolio Recovery Associates (PRA), is accused of filing thousands of affidavits allegedly signed by a woman -- after she died. With their employees signing "on average" 100 affidavits per day, how is it even possible to ensure even minimal accuracy? And when questioned, PRA's lawyer points fingers at their "outside lawyers."

PRA settled class action claims against it for the the misrepresentation in the affidavits containing the deceased woman's signature.
